FAITH IN SOMETHING OR SOMEONE (Mark 4:33-41)

January 28, 2013

What do you place your faith in to get you through the trials of life? Your friends, your family, or your own abilities?

What do you place your faith in to deal with the inevitability of death and what happens after death?

Is it science, medicine, or religion?

Science can tell you why you are going to die, but death will still ultimately come.

Medicine can make you feel better before you die, it can even extend your life, but death will still ultimately come.

Religion, with its works, and its rules, can make you feel like you are doing something about death and what comes after, but death will still ultimately come.

Listen to this podcast to hear what the Word God says that we are to place our faith in. Rejoice as the Bible tells us the something and the Someone that has the power to control death and what comes after.

DIRTY BIRDS AND DIRTY BREAD (Mark 4:24 to 31)

DIRTY BIRDS AND DIRTY BREAD (Mark 4:24 to 31)

January 21, 2013

As believers, it is easy for us to look at the world around us and see that it is growing farther and farther from God. The world’s religious system has taken the inerrant and infallible Word of God and homogenized it, water its truths down, and added the philosophies of man to it, so that it will be more socially adjusted and accepted by the world.

Listen to this podcast to learn how Satan has used his dirty birds as agents to create the dirty bread to pull people away from the true gospel message of Christ.

THE CANDLE AND THE BASKET (MARK 4:21-23)

THE CANDLE AND THE BASKET (MARK 4:21-23)

January 14, 2013

In the parable of the candle and the basket, Jesus asks the simple question of the believer, would you bring a candle to a dark room and then cover it up with a basket?

Most people would say no, that does not make any sense because the purpose of lighting a candle is to dispel the darkness. A candle’s light brings safety from the things that lurk in the dark. If you put the candle into a lantern it becomes a mobile device that lights the pathway on a dark night, and if you put a reflective surface behind it, you can cast its light for long distances.

Listen to this podcast to hear how this message applies to the believer.  Learn how the believer is the candle that shines the light of Jesus upon a dark world.

IS YOUR SALVATION REAL? (Mark 4:10-20)

IS YOUR SALVATION REAL? (Mark 4:10-20)

January 7, 2013

Is your salvation real?

Our churches are full of people who have made a profession of faith but do not possess Christ in their hearts. Their faith is an intellectual acceptance of Christ, but they have not been reborn.

Others have attended crusades, or evangelistic meetings, and had an emotional experience, only to find that being a Christian means facing persecution.

Listen to this podcast to learn how the Bible tells us we can be sure of our salvation. How we can be sure that Christ lives in our hearts.

JESUS TEACHES (Mark 3:31 to 4:9)

December 31, 2012

What makes someone a great teacher?

Is it the effect they have had on your life, or the knowledge they have imparted?

Many in the world today consider Jesus to have been a great teacher or prophet, but Jesus was much more than a teacher. Jesus as God incarnate in man, had a message for the world. It is a message of God’s grace, God’s love, and eternal life.

Listen to this podcast to see how Jesus taught this message of the gospel of Christ. How He changed the world with His parables that spoke of everyday life, but contained great Biblical truths.

TO BE CALLED UNTO JESUS (Mark 3:13-30)

TO BE CALLED UNTO JESUS (Mark 3:13-30)

December 16, 2012

Jesus is calling you to come unto Him.

How are you going to respond?

For those who respond to the call of Jesus and make Him their Savior, there is a lifetime of trials, persecution, and heartache.  But through it all there is His Spirit in your heart, His wisdom, His comfort, His strength, and most of all eternal life with Jesus in heaven.

For those who reject the call of Jesus, there is a lifetime of trials, persecution, and heartache.  But through it all you are alone.  Your friends cannot be there with you every moment you need.  You must face these trials alone, and most of all you have chosen to spend eternity separated from God.

Listen to this podcast to find out what it means to respond to the call of Jesus.  Jesus is calling, what is your response?

Who your husband or wife would be?  Which career path you would take?  To change jobs? To go to college, or not?  To have children, and how many?  Which religion you would follow?

These are all truly important decisions that have long term implications on your life.

Listen to this podcast to hear what the Word of God says is the single most important decision you will ever make.  This single decision will determine whether you spend eternity in heaven or hell.  Nothing else you do will matter.  No amount of good works will change the consequences of this single decision.  You must decide about who Jesus Christ is in your life.

Listen to this podcast and learn how Paul expressed his gratitude to God, and as you listen you will find the things that you can be truly grateful for.

JESUS, THE BELIEVER’S REST (Mark 2:23-28)

JESUS, THE BELIEVER’S REST (Mark 2:23-28)

November 20, 2012

Do you always try to do what is right?  Most of us would say yes.

In your daily activities are you always trying to do what is ethical, moral, and just?  Again, my expectation is that you would say yes, as Christians we are basically moral people.

Do you have a set of values about what is right or wrong that you try to live your life by?  Of course, you do.

When you face a hard decision about your career, or marriage, or divorce, or even where you are going to go on vacation, do you try to do what is right in your own eyes?

Listen to this podcast to learn how Jesus tells you that if you answered yes to any, or one, of these questions, and you are a believer, then you have failed to fully enter into the rest that Jesus Christ offers each believer.

WHERE DO YOU SHINE? (Mark 2:13-22)

WHERE DO YOU SHINE? (Mark 2:13-22)

November 13, 2012

Where do you shine the brightest?  Where is the place that people notice you the most and say, I wish I could be like that person?

If you are a believer, is it when you are at church on Sunday?

Certainly, Christ expects a church to be a light set upon a hill for all to see, but what about your individual light?

Listen to this podcast to understand how Jesus expects us to be a light for a dark world that is searching for answers.

THE POWER OF JESUS CHRIST (Mark 1:35 to 2:12)

THE POWER OF JESUS CHRIST (Mark 1:35 to 2:12)

November 4, 2012

When you commit a crime against a state or local jurisdiction, it is a court from that jurisdiction that is given authority to determine your guilt or innocence of that transgression.  This is because the law that you have broken was written by the same state or local jurisdiction.  It is their law you have broken, therefore, they hold the right to judge you.

When you commit a sin against a holy and just God, it is God alone that has the authority to determine your guilt or innocence, and then to convict and sentence you for that sin.  This is because God has established the absolute truths of what is right and what is sin, therefore, He alone holds the right to judge you.

It is because God is a just God that He cannot simply say your sin does not matter and release you from the consequences of that sin.  So God chose to send His only begotten Son to pay the penalty for your sins.  He did this so that He can forgive, not just some of the people of their sin, but so that He can forgive all of mankind's sin.  The authority to forgive sin is God's and God's alone.  No priest, pope, ruler, or potentate can do this.

Listen to this podcast to learn how Jesus Christ claimed the power and authority to forgive your sin on this earth.  Learn how if you do not seek the forgiveness that Jesus can provide before you die, you will not receive that forgiveness at all.

THEY KNEW THE NAME OF JESUS (Mark 1:16-34)

THEY KNEW THE NAME OF JESUS (Mark 1:16-34)

October 31, 2012

Can you remember the first time you heard the name Jesus and really understood who He is?

The name of Jesus divides the history of mankind.  There is the time before Christ came, and there is the time after He came.  Every time you write a date you are acknowledging that Jesus came to this earth 2,000 years ago.

The name of Jesus is one of the most famous names in all of history.  Listen to this podcast to learn what happened on the day that the name of Jesus first became famous.

DID SATAN HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO OFFER A KINDGOM? (Mark 1:14-15)

DID SATAN HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO OFFER A KINDGOM? (Mark 1:14-15)

October 27, 2012

Did Satan have the authority to offer Jesus the kingdoms and the glory of the world during the temptation of Jesus?

If yes, does he still have that authority?

As a believer, what can you do to combat such a powerful foe?

What was the purpose of Jesus, the Son of God, coming to this earth in the form of a man?

Listen to this podcast to find the answers to these critically important questions for the believer.

JESUS IS ANOINTED AND TESTED (Mark 1:9-13)

JESUS IS ANOINTED AND TESTED (Mark 1:9-13)

October 18, 2012

Why would Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, need to be baptized?

Did He need to repent of anything?  Did He need to turn from religion to faith?

For that matter, why would Jesus Christ, the Creator of all things, need to be tempted by one His own creations, Satan?

Did Jesus, the last Adam, fall in this temptation, just as the first Adam did in the Garden of Eden?

These are compelling questions with significant answers to all those who call Jesus, Lord and Master.

Listen to this podcast and learn what the Word of God says about these questions that are the foundation of our faith in Jesus Christ.

JOHN’S MESSAGE (Mark 1:4-8)

JOHN’S MESSAGE (Mark 1:4-8)

October 15, 2012

Our world is in need of repentance.  It needs to turn away from religion and turn towards Jesus Christ.  This is the message that John the Baptist had for the Jews of his day.  They needed to repent and turn away from the rituals of Judaism and return to the God-given faith of their fathers.  Their baptism was a symbol of this repentance.

Mark tells us of John's baptism of repentance, and then he tells of the coming of the One who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.

Listen and rejoice as we learn of the difference between John's baptism and the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN CHRIST? (2 Cor. 13:4-14)

September 29, 2012

Have you forgotten Christ in your everyday life?

Do your actions tell others that Christ lives in you and is leading you, or do you subscribe to the stealthy Christian lifestyle?  The one where you keep Christ hidden until you show up for church on Sunday?

Christ is coming again.  Do you really believe that this is true?  Do you have your house in order for Him to come?  Are you standing in the Word of God, are you obedient to its teachings?  Are you surrendered to the will of God, ready to do whatever the Lord has for you to do?  Have you cleansed your life, and your church, of the things that are of Satan?

Listen to this podcast to hear how Paul spoke to the Corinthians about the Christ that they had forgotten.  This lesson will speak to you about your own Christian witness.
