Monday Jun 20, 2011
Monday Jun 20, 2011
As a believer, are there any limitations on what we can do and what is it that drives the decision about those limitations? Paul has been explaining to the Corinthians that there are direct rules in the Word of God that a Christian must obey. But what about the things that are not so clearly labeled as wrong in the Bible? Are there any limitations with these? What follows is a study on the things that are controlled by how our brothers and sisters in Christ, and the lost people of the world, will perceive and be affected by our actions. This is a verse-by-verse study of 1 Corinthians 8:1-6.

Sunday May 15, 2011
Sunday May 15, 2011
Have you ever asked yourself what God's purpose was in giving us a body? Why did He not just leave us as spiritual beings? Why did He make us unique in all of creation by giving us three parts: body, soul, and spirit? Could it be that from the very foundations of the universe God has had a particular purpose in mind for us? The answer is yes, God does have a purpose for us and our bodies. Not only in this life, right now, but for all of eternity. This is the lesson that Paul wants the Corinthians to understand, that they are tools that God intends to use to serve His purposes, and for them to fulfill that purpose they must keep their bodies pure. This is a verse-by-verse study of 1 Corinthians 6:9-15.

What does the Bible say about how believers are to react when another believer steals from them, or lies about them? Of course, our natural reaction is to want to tell the world about what this person has done to us. However, the Bible tells us that there is something much more important at stake. The testimony of the church, and the believer, must be our main focus. Paul gives us the answer to this question in a verse-by-verse study of 1 Corinthians 6:1-8.
